Microsoft is setting up a tablet that is supported by
folding screens. A picture shows that a tablet that Microsoft developed will
have a folding screen feature.
To create a folding screen, WindowsUnited reveals that
Microsoft has worked on a special hinge that uses a search to reduce the
pressure on a flexible and collapsible display.
As reported by The Verge,
The fluid can fill the cavity inside the flexible screen, to
make the bend and move to a different position.
Examples of Microsoft devices demonstrate some of the
concepts of hinge assembly with structure to "prevent foreign material
from entering the hinge assembly or device."
A picture also shows the complexity of the hinge. This
patent is filed by a "Microsoft technology license," which indicates
Microsoft may license it to a partner.
Microsoft is currently working with Intel and some OEMs to
set up a new version of Windows, codenamed "Windows Lite," which will
run on collapsible devices and dual-screen devices.
This new version of Windows will be targeted for dual-screen
hardware and folding devices. Previously, Microsoft has also licensed some
Surface Pro hinges for partners.
