At the grand event in Munich, in addition to launching the
Mate 30 Series, Huawei also presented the next-generation smartwatch, Watch GT
2.
Like Samsung, Huawei has never released an Android Wear
smartwatch before switching to its own platform, which turned out to be a wise
decision, as Wear OS has not been popular, plus a complicated relationship
between technology giants China and Google.
Yes, Huawei Watch GT 2 is a wearable device for both
companies that use its own OS, following a smartwatch track at an affordable
price that was announced along with the Mate 20 Series last year.
Design, size, and display
As leaked a few weeks ago, Huawei Watch GT 2 purifies the
appearance of its already classy predecessor with an "all-in-one 3D glass
design" that creates "a wider, limitless look." Not that without
a bezel.
The 42mm variant looks slimmer and prettier compared to
other smartwatches on the market. The curved Dial with a thickness of 9, 4mm
helps this model stand out, along with the "fashionable" metal
skeleton.
The larger 46mm model is more akin to the original Watch GT,
as well as the traditional watch while using the 1.39-inch AMOLED display with
a clearer resolution of 454 × 454 pixels, a wider color gamut, and an
ultra-thin profile.
Chipsets, battery life, and other features
Like her teasers a while ago, Huawei focused an important
part of its ads on the Kirin A1 chipset which combines
"sophisticated" Bluetooth processing units, "robust" audio
processing units, processors that consume "very low power", and
management units Separate power.
Instead of promising to give you the super speed you may not
need from a wearable device, this all-in-one SoC aims to minimize energy
consumption and maximize battery life.
The GT 2 Smartwatch promises battery life for up to two weeks
in one charge with "everyday use" and up to a week in "Classic
mode."
Typically, it's an optimistic prediction based on light
everyday use, so maybe the actual number is 15 and 30 hours to persist
"under tracked GPS Sports mode". And it was quite impressive.
Huawei Watch GT 2 already has a standalone GPS function that
becomes mandatory to have a list of health, fitness, and activity tracking
features that include a built-in heart rate monitor, sleep quality, and a
"full" monitoring of the 190 data type scale for 15 different sports,
ranging from running and cycling, both indoors and outdoors.
Although Huawei Watch GT 2 does not come with an ECG monitor
or a fall detection function, a series of health enhancement skills are
transmitted to the smartwatch, especially heart failure monitors, reminders to
always move and TruRelax technology That are patented to help relieve stress.
The A1 Chipset mentioned above also allows the Bluetooth
phone call function. Watch GT 2 doesn't come with standalone mobile
connectivity, it means you'll need to connect your smartwatch to your phone
from a distance of up to 150 meters and answer a voice call directly on your
wrist.
Price
Unfortunately, there has been no official price announced
for the second generation Huawei Watch GT. However, if the first generation is
an indication, the watch should be able to compete with a smartwatch such as
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active and Fitbit Versa 2 in the price range of $ 200 –
$250 (~ Rp3-4 million). But that's just a guess.
